My year at Message
After having an amazing year at Message as Production Assistant, I have made the very hard decision to move on and accept my next challenge of becoming a trainee project manager in a digital marketing company.
In April 2010 I joined the team at Message as an intern, with the hopes of learning a few things about the business side of the digital media world. I can safely say my expectations were met and exceeded. Coming up to the end of my internship, one very sunny day in May, we gathered our bikes together, all brought something yummy along and went on a bike ride along the sea front, our very own "Bikenic". It was then I knew I was part of the team and the thought of leaving filled me with dread and sadness. Luckily the team at Message liked me as much as I liked them and I was offered a job as the Production Assistant and have not looked back since.

Bikenic!

A little something I knocked up over Christmas for the team at Message.
I was not only chucked into some very exciting projects but I was able to obtain a broad overview of how everything works, from brand research to business plan write ups and project processes from beginning to end. I have also learnt a lot about the power of social media and the benefits of using it efficiently as an effective way to help businesses' relationships with their clients.
I can safely say my experiences at message have allowed me to take home a rather diversified array of music taste, I don't think I have ever laughed so much and been made to feel so welcomed and loved.
The Message robot was my nemesis, the whiteboard was our doodle pad, the music was our daily soundtrack to what felt like the funniest and happiest film I have ever seen, Lego making sessions would entertain our creative needs, I will miss the very confident and hairy message cat who would pop out of no where with his comforting meows, and Lilly the dog made the office feel like a home. The remote control helicopter would entertain us through our screen breaks and the people have made leaving, one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
I came to Message with very little knowledge of all things digital and I can leave knowing I am now ready to begin my new job confident that I am armed with all the knowledge and experience I could need to face this new challenge, and that is thanks to to the whole team at Message.
I have been at Message a year and I feel I have not only gained some amazing friends but would describe the Message team as my extended family.
Thank you Message. You rock!
